"I have been a patient of Dr. Bendt Petersen for about eight years now. Before moving to the Deep South, I have had five lumbar surgeries. I have degenerative disc disease and other maladies of the spine/joints. I probably make his job more difficult because I delay visiting him, but I am currently under his continual care trying to stave off a seventh surgery. I believe we have found a combination of medications that will aid in that delay. I am having more good days than bad. :-) I am generally active, hiking on the sands of the south coast beaches, fishing, boating, swimming, and other activities. I really love playing my flute on an abandoned beach. I appreciate the care I received at The Orthopaedic Group." -- Marlene P.
"Justin is 10 years old and his feet turn in. His legs don't hurt, but sometimes he trips over his feet. Dr. Engerson assured us he would be find and explained what was causing it. He has treated everyone in my family and is a wonderful doctor! Dr. Peterson treats me for back problems, and Dr. Parks fixed my foot. Of all the orthopedic doctors I know, these are the BEST on the coast! I also want to say the staff is just as nice as can be." --Brenda M.
"I have had lower back pain since 1977, and I had my first surgery in 1979. Prior to moving to Alabama and ultimately coming under the care of Dr. Bendt Petersen, I had had five lumbar surgeries. This last one was my sixth which included fusions, hardware placement, and hardware removal. What a ride it has been. Dr. Petersen fused L3/L4 and put in hardware in 2009. His care was exceptional and I have been feeling good! His personality really "meshes" with mine and I appreciate him on several levels. And, I can't forget to mention his nurse, Theresa. Such love and care, and a brilliant mind! It's a good match... doctor, nurse, and patient!" -- Marlene P.
"I have had back problems for about six years now I have used your group and only have nice things to say!! For one I NEVER have problems getting in with my doctor! If you have any idea of the severity of back pain, when it happens its the worst feeling and it's awesome to have a office that understands and accommodates you in a timely manner. That is what makes your whole experience wonderful!! Kudos to Teresa, Dr. Peterson’s nurse for being so super nice, understanding, and willing to get me better. Keep up the good work The Orthopaedic Group!" -- Joy M.
"Dr. Petersen, lll is a WONDERFUL doctor!! Two years ago I could hardly walk. I was referred to Dr. Petersen and after a few visits he did back surgery on me. I couldn't believe how amazing I felt!! I had sciatic problem and groin problems. He then referred me to Dr. Wallace, another AMAZING doctor! Within a short time I was walking pain free and didn't need my walker or a wheel chair! Those were a great couple of years! Unfortunately, after a fall out of bed one night I reinjured my hip. I went back to both doctors and after a few epidurals. For a reference I would and did recommend both doctors to a couple of my friends." -- Patty H.
"I have been a patient of Dr. Petersen's for a couple of years now. The staff that assist him are wonderful. They are very personable and are very patient. I have been employed in the health care business for over thirty years and I recognize professionals when I see them. The staff from the front office to the back are always helpful. Thank you for taking excellent care of me. The problems with my back have not completely resolved, but they are a lot better than they were before I started coming to the office. I admire the office staffs' ability to collect on those balances! Keep up the good work!" -- Odessa D.
"In June 2010 I had lumbar fusion surgery with Dr. Petersen. Before my surgery, I was in constant pain, I walked with a cane, and I could not find employment. Before I went to another doctor who had me taking five Lortab 10's a day. As of July 2012, I am 95% pain free and I now have full time employment. Dr. Petersen and his nurse, Teresa, along with his entire staff are the best!!! Thanks for my life back!!!" -- Bryan H.
