Congratulations to Allison Blythe, PT on her first place finishes in the last three Mississippi Gravel Cup 50-mile cycling competitions in January and February.

Allison competed in the Mississippi Gravel Cup #2 – Camp Shelby on January 22, 2022; Mississippi Gravel Cup #3 – Rockcrusher on February 5, 2022; and Mississippi Gravel Cup #4 – The Burner on February 19, 2022. You can view the results for all races online.

The Mississippi Gravel Cup is a series of four races from January through February on the gravel roads of mid- and North Mississippi. The race featured 25, 50, and 100-mile routes through Camp Shelby and Desoto National Forest.

Blythe says, “I have done many triathlon and Ironman races, but the gravel cycling began a couple of years ago.”

Participating in races helps her maintain an overall healthy lifestyle, while also seeing different places while cycling. Her advice to others wanting to get started? She says to be consistent, just set the alarm and get up and exercise.

“We have a saying in therapy – ‘If you don’t move, you rust!’ Whatever it is, get up and get moving,” Blythe says. “Most of all, enjoy what you do!”

We’re proud to have Allison in our physical therapy department and we can’t wait to see what she achieves next!
