Dr. Jared L. Burkett is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating shoulder, elbow, and hand conditions. He is dedicated to providing personalized care that focuses on restoring function and improving the quality of life for his patients.
Dr. Burkett earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Physical Sciences from Auburn University at Montgomery before receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama, where he gained comprehensive training in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Through his fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Dr. Burkett received specialized training in complex hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgeries. He developed advanced expertise in treating fractures of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, as well as sports-related injuries affecting these areas. His training included arthroscopic procedures for the wrist and shoulder, such as rotator cuff and labral repair, as well as total shoulder arthroplasty. Additionally, Dr. Burkett gained proficiency in microsurgical nerve repair and tendon transfers, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, and the treatment of conditions such as cubital tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s disease, trigger finger, elbow instability, and arthritis from the shoulder to the fingertip.
