Dr. McGowin is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and subspecialty-certified in sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in shoulder and knee surgery as well as in sports medicine care. He is a member of most area hospital staff, the Alabama Orthopaedic Society, and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.
