Laughs and memories as we celebrate Sharon Lymon’s 27 years

In 1995 a 20-year-old prankster accepted a job at The Orthopaedic Group, P.C., and 27 years later, she is retiring – but still a prankster!

Sharon Lymon began her tenure with The Orthopaedic Group, P.C., in the file room at the Springhill Office. She says, “I started here when there were paper charts that we had to pull before every appointment or message could be returned.”  Sharon was the go-to for difficult finds; she laughed when saying she was referred to as the “Paper Chaser,” a title she wears with pride. She said it was like a treasure hunt finding the things other people could not.

Sharon said she is taking memories and friendships with her after 27 years on our team. She shared she is walking away with a lifetime of laughs and memories, and is thankful for every opportunity she has been given. Sharon said she made herself a reputation for pulling pranks on people. One of her favorites was when she called Jan McIntosh in the Business Office. She called and disguised her voice as a man and complained about the bill. With her voice altered, Sharon became frustrated with Jan when Jan could not answer her questions, which Sharon said intentionally made no sense. Sharon said she finally lost it and started laughing. Jokes like this are Sharon’s way of spreading love, helping people laugh, or making them smile when she finds out someone is having a bad day.

Virginia Evertt, who has worked with Sharon for more than 30 years, said, “Sharon…. I enjoyed working with her for many years. Never a dull moment. There is always something going on. She has a flashlight on her desk because she is terrified of the dark. When the lights go out, she screams. Also, she loves fried chicken. I think she would eat it every day. She does a great job, and we will all miss her. Enjoy retirement and take care of those great-grandbabies.”

Sharon has big plans to do absolutely nothing during retirement. Instead, she is splitting her time with her 12 grandbabies and 14 great-grands and fishing. She hopes to combine the two and have all the grands on the water with her fishing.

Please join us in thanking Sharon for her dedication to The Orthopaedic Group, P.C., and wishing her luck on retirement!
